BEVERLY, MASS — Kaminski will present an estate, jewelry and couture auction on Saturday, November 12, starting at 11 am Eastern time. The auction features a collection of furniture, silver and furnishings from a Boston penthouse, a jewelry collection from a Chestnut Hill, Mass., estate, and furs coats from a Massachusetts collection.
The standout lot is a set of Jean E. Puiforcat, France, .925 silver flatware. The service for 36 in the Cannes pattern, designed in 1928, has a gilt finish and bears the marks: E-penknife-P, Minerva hallmark, Puiforcat France. Also, from Puiforcat, France, is a Foret Blanche dinner set.
The penthouse collection continues with a Regency-style silver tea set with gold wash, hallmarked “IMS” in cartouche (possibly John Marshall Spink), hallmarked for .958 Britannia silver. The set includes a tray with 12 cup holders and saucers and 12 demitasse cups. The cups have George Jones & Son Crescent porcelain liners. There is also a late Eighteenth/early Nineteenth Century English silver-covered tureen with a gold wash, an engraved coat-of-arms and initialed R.M.
Furniture from the collection features several pairs of French giltwood chairs with leather upholstery, sets of armchairs from Minton-Spidell in Los Angeles and two contemporary L-shaped designer burlwood desks, among many more lots of designer furniture.
Jewelry highlights from the Chestnut Hill collection begin with several 18K yellow gold, diamond and sapphire rings and necklace, double-stranded pearl necklaces, 14K gold and diamond bracelets and assorted pearl, diamond, emerald and tanzanite rings.
There is also 18K gold Patek Philippe pocket watch, #231214 inscribed 120762 on the case, a pair of Van Cleef & Arpels, New York, gold diamond and sapphire cufflinks, marked VCA NY and an Art Deco Gruen precision diamond pocket watch #480364, with a platinum diamond chain with fob, all from a New York City collection.
Featured in the couture category are several designer mink coats, including a “Glama” full-length fur coat, a black mahogany mink coat and a lynx spotted full-length fox coat.
Other items of interest include a Hermes black leather briefcase, a Nineteenth Century silver inkstand with gold wash from Garrard, London, and a pair of Venetian yellow cut glass lamps with silk shades.
