BEVERLY, MASS. — Kaminski Auction’s first sale of the New Year will be a three-day auction on January 6,7 and 8, beginning at 11 am EST at the Kaminski Auction gallery.
On Friday, January 6, Day One features the coin and stamp collection of the late Andrew S. Dorfman of Leonia, N.J. Saturday, January 7 features an extensive collection of fine wine, militaria and selected Asian porcelains. Sunday, January 8 showcases an outstanding collection of oil paintings from a West Palm Beach, Fla., estate, high-quality antique Persian rugs, and an extraordinary collection of high-end custom draperies, window treatments and curtains from a Palm Beach, Fla., estate.
Fine art in the auction features an oil on canvas labeled Hurst Bamford and titled “Racing at Longchamp,” valued at $14/17,000, a Bethune watercolor of “Madame Helene Lindez,” an oil on canvas by Hubert Vos, circa 1914, and two paintings by the Russian artist Vladimir Pervuninsky from a collection at The Villages, Fla. A Maurice Utrillo (French, 1883-1955) signed watercolor also features in the sale.
Jewelry highlights include platinum and diamond tennis bracelets, a South Sea pearl necklace and a 14K yellow gold and diamond ring with a 1.50-carat fancy light yellow center stone. The lot includes a GIA report on the center stone.
Furniture highlights include a circa 1960 Paul McCobb credenza, an antique French carved walnut dining set, a Vladimir Kagan tambour desk and additional designer furniture from a Boston penthouse.
Rugs in the auction include an antique Persian Tabriz with an unusual striped field, a Nepali carpet and a Sino-Tabriz silk rug. There is also a high-quality Serapi and an oversize antique Oushak.
An extensive collection of Chinese porcelains, paintings and Asian antiques feature on Saturday and Sunday. The top lot is an Eighteenth Century Chinese painting that measures approximately 65 by 94 inches, and a monumental bronze Asian Shiva figure that stands 71 inches high.
Sunday features fine art, designer furniture, home furnishings and an extensive collection of high-end custom draperies.
Other items of interest include an 1866 Lovincs terrestrial globe from a Salem, Mass., estate, and a Nineteenth Century autograph book with more than 30 pages of autographs. Some notable signatures include Louisa M. Alcott, Longfellow, Charles Dickens, Whittier, Grover Cleveland, Hays and Edwin Booth from a Gloucester, Mass., collection.
