WEST MONROE, N.Y. — Iroquois Auction will conduct an onsite antiques auction April 15 and 16 at 2136 Route 49 at the farm with a preview time of 8 am and a start at 10 am each day under tents. Attendees are reminded to dress for the weather.
Auctioneer Gerald A. Petro said that it has taken more than 12 months of gleaning only the best estates from local homes and collections of which most will be offered for the first time with no reserves in this two-day auction.
West Monroe is about 20 miles north of Syracuse, N.Y., at exit 12 of Route 81 [Central Square] then 4 miles east on Route 49 East to West Monroe.
Highlights of the auction include a one-owner collection of 250 pieces mochaware and spatterware porcelains, unreserved, from the Hinkle estate of Truxton, N.Y. The Hinkles were not dealers but farmers who passionately collected all of their lives together; not many people knew this vast collection existed on this beautiful farm.
The owners never sold anything all their lives until now. Their antiques will be sold for the most part to benefit the local 4H Club. “I hired Jeff DeHart, who was the former owner of Conestoga Auctions and Hess auctions to inventory, appraise and catalog all of the spatter and mocha,” said Petro, adding, “If you have any questions on these items only, contact him at 717-468-1330.”
The Clarence H. Carney of Pulaski, N.Y., estate will also be sold here. He was a World War II and Vietnam recipient of two bronze star medals and a serious collector of clocks, dolls, toys and more. His World War II collection [including three boxed bronze stars], World War II relics, plus a Tiffany sterling flatware set will be sold.
An estate from Theresa, N.Y., which consisted of a Nineteenth Century farm store and livery stable, barn and home yielded a Nineteenth Century sandpaper-finished wood Massey Harris dealer sign, photos, milk cans, wagon wheels and more.
The remaining Alan Drohan estate from Fulton, N.Y., features items from the attorney to four New York state Supreme Court judges for 40 years. His collections of thousands of rare books, maps, photos, prints, bibles and antiques will be offered for the first time, unreserved, to settle his estate.
A historical Brewerton estate fresh to the market just recently discovered in the last three months will be sold unreserved consisting of family treasures not seen for more than 160 years. This estate is so noted “Brewerton, N.Y.” It consists of antique and modern guns, a signal cannon, car mascots, cameras toys, dolls, furniture, country store items and much more
This will be a live, in-person auction with online bidding available with www.liveauctioneers.com.
It is also possible to bid by phone or leave an absentee bid by calling Iroquois Auctions at 315-561-9777.

A note to our buyers:
We are pleased to announce one of the largest collections of Spatterware & Mochaware (250+ pieces) & primitives from the Hinkle Estate of Truxton, NY. The proceeds for those items will assist in benefiting their local 4H club; please bid accordingly with that in mind. The Hinkles were farmers & collectors, not dealers. Their passion for collecting is here to see, all unreserved.
Jeff Dehart, former owner of Conestoga Auctions (Now Hess Auctions) Appraised & cataloged all of the Spatterware & Mochaware. For inquiries regarding those pieces please contact Jeff at (717)468-1330. For ALL other questions please contact our office at (315) 561-9777.
Included in this sale is the Estate of Lt. Clarence H. Carney, who was a WWII, 2 Bronze Star Holder & Antique Collector. All of his medals, war relics and beautiful antiques will be sold here unreserved.
