BEVERLY, MASS. — Kaminski Auctions will hold its December Annual New Year’s action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 29-31, starting at 11 am at their auction gallery. The auction features estates of the late Kathleen Cavanaugh of Collinsville, Conn., Robert Eigelberger of Palm Beach, Fla., and rarities from a prominent West Palm Beach, Fla., home. All three days will feature Asian items, including porcelains from a local Chinese collector.
Highlights of the sale include a Tiffany Studio, New York signed stained glass window; an Arts & Crafts bronze chandelier with knight figureheads and green glass panels; and a full-size standing nude bronze sculpture from a Southern Connecticut estate.
Fine art features a portrait, oil on canvas of Lord Vivian, Richard Hussey of Swansea, South Wales, Great Britain, in military uniform circa 1820, from the collection of Clyne Castle, Glamorganshire, Wales, purchased at Callard of London gallery in Chicago.
Asian antiques and porcelain top lots include a late Nineteenth Century Chinese watercolor scroll painting decorated with a landscape, a rare Chinese Doucai moon flask decorated with quails and magpies in bright enamels, with the Yongzheng mark on the base, and a pear-shaped vase adorned with a pair of ferocious dragons chasing flaming pearls amidst the clouds also bearing the Yongzheng mark. A remarkable Chinese bronze Bodhisattva Guanyin from the Tang dynasty (618-907 CE) or Song dynasty (960-1280 CE) with a baby Buddha in her hand is estimated to bring $2/3,000 from a Fairfield, Conn., collection.
Estate jewelry on offer features a 14K white and yellow gold fancy yellow modified cushion diamond ring with 104 round brilliant cut diamonds; a 14K yellow gold, oval yellow sapphire and diamond ring; a 14K yellow gold cabochon jadeite and diamond ring; and an 18K white gold marquise tanzanite pendant. The tanzanite measures 2.50 carats and hangs from a 17-inch yellow-gold chain. A South Sea pearl necklace with 11-12mm pearls measuring 44 inches long is also available from a Honolulu estate.
Silver flatware in the auction includes a set of 1946 International Silver Co sterling flatware from designer Alfred G. Kintz and a Wallace sterling flatware set in the Waltz of Spring pattern.
Antique furniture in the sale includes a custom Old Colony Georgian-style mahogany breakfront/secretary from a Palm Beach, Fla., estate and several lots of Eighteenth Century French pieces, including a French Louis XV walnut library table, a French Louis XIII carved walnut cabinet and a Nineteenth Century Napoleon III burlwood and ebony server/display cabinet with Sevres porcelains. A Nineteenth Century French secretary with a matching chair with ormolu mounts is from the Kathleen Cavanaugh estate of Connecticut.
