Merrill’s Auctioneers and Appraisers is pleased to offer outstanding Mid Century and Modem furniture and accessories from the estate of the late Marlene G Passman of West Hartford, Connecticut, widow of Dr. Bernard Passman. Marlene had an avid interest in decorating, operating Marlene G. Passman Interiors in the 1980’s, drawing her stock from the Decoration & Design Building (DDB Building) in NYC.
The sale features furniture by Tommi Parzinger, Silas Seandel, Haivey Probber, Borge Mogensen, Thomas Moser, Heiman Miller, and other designers; art including three paintings by Lynne Mapp Drexler purchased from the artist by Mariane Shaw Blanchard (1928-2023), a fellow Monhegan Islander, collector, & supporter of the arts, as well as offerings by George Grosz, Edouard Vuillard, Mounia L Andre (Bauhaus trained artist Margot Loewe), Kees Van Dongen, Sabra Field, and others; lighting by Tommi Parzinger, Richard Sapper for Artemide, Achille Costiglioni for Flos, Handel, Tiffany; bronzes, metalwork, and sculptures by Henry Dumaige, Hester White, Ruth Milles, William Bowie, Dale Rogers, Paolo Soleri; designer label clothing & accessories by Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, & Loewe; Chinese furniture and accessories; MCM, Antique, & semiantique carpets & nigs including Tufenkian; Studio and Art Glass by Lalique, Baccarat; fine jewelry, Dansk cookware and wooden ware, other accessories from area homes and estates.
