BEACON, N.Y. — Hudson Valley Auctioneers will present an unreserved antiques and estate auction with absentee, phone and online bidding through LiveAuctioneers.com on Monday, February 12, at an early start of 3 pm EST.
The sale includes the estate of Jack Goldstein and several partial estates and begins with 50 lots of artwork, mostly Nineteenth Century oils, and follows throughout the day with many groups of paintings, Asian artworks, some early prints and maps, modern and abstract artworks, many Italian works and five Louise Abrams masterworks.
Lighting includes five vintage panel lamps, multiple chandeliers and several other traditional and modern lamps. A selection of Nineteenth Century figural bronzes, several Nineteenth and Twentieth Century clocks, a collection of vintage sewing items, textiles such as overshot coverlets, a long rag runner and several Persian carpets are scattered throughout the sale. Among the Asian items are jade archers’ rings, several porcelain pieces, watercolors, a Chinese brass gong, Ming funerary figures, an early Tansu and other artifacts.
Native pottery, textiles, Inuit carvings, Navajo jewelry and other related material are mixed in with porcelain and glass, including Meissen figurines, many large sets of china, large groups of Hummels, Lladro, Royal Doulton and a large collection of demitasse cups, Baccarat, Waterford, Steuben, a perfume bottle collection, jadeite kitchenware and more.
A very large selection of costume jewelry to be sold in single and large multi-piece lots and some jewelry, mostly Italian gold, will be sold along with sets of sterling flatware and a selection of hollowware.
Furniture selections are highlighted by a Nineteenth Century bucket bench with traces of blue, a stained blanket box with drawer, an early Italian cassone, a continental tilt breakfast table, a signed original Westport chair by Thos Lee for Harvey Bunnell, a large carved fireplace mantel, a pair of Edmund Spence armchairs, Woodard iron chairs, a Stow Davis table and lots more Nineteenth and Twentieth Century as well as midcentury furniture selections. Civil War-era items include a wood drum, wood and cane stretcher, period crutches, three Springfield rifles, several bayonets, a powder pistol, an 1828 powder horn with great carving and a period Dobson banjo. Other items that should draw interest are a rare original “cycle show” poster, several Paul Draper photos, a “Lincoln in Dalivision “ platinum 42/65 in original case and shipping box and a Victor Coleman Anderson oil portrait.
Bidders can expect 550 lots.
