TOLLAND, CONN. — Heralded as one of the best antiques shows in New England, the Tolland Historical Society Antiques Show returns for its 55th year on Sunday, March 17, from 9 am to 3 pm. More than 40 exhibitors from all over New England and beyond will meet at Tolland Middle School to display and sell quality antiques with an emphasis on Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century country, Americana, textiles, folk art and the like.
It is, however, not just a country show. There will be plenty of exhibitors who specialize in early painted and country furniture, Americana, folk art and textiles, as expected, but there will also be dealers in antique and vintage jewelry, Georgian and Victorian silver, early glass and china, early baskets and decoys, Nineteenth Century pottery and ceramics and much more. Visitors will find a wide variety of antiques in all price ranges.
The show is managed by John and Elizabeth DeSimone, of Goosefare Antiques & Promotions, Saco, Maine. They have said that this year’s show has dealers from New England, New Yoor, New Jersey and Maryland. Regular customers will see many of their favorite dealers returning, but we have added some new dealers this year, including Judith Lesser, Md., with Nineteenth Century English ceramics; Morgan MacWhinnie, N.Y., with Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century furniture and accessories; Elizabeth DiTomassi, Mass., with fine Georgian and Victorian jewelry; and Rona Andrews and Michelle Genereux with early country Americana. A full listing of dealers is available on the Goosefare Antiques website.
Adult admission to the show is $10 and the doors will open promptly at 9 am with no early buyers’ entry. Food will be available for purchase throughout the show. All proceeds help fund Tolland Historical Society’s local exhibits and events.
Tolland Middle School is at 1 Falcon Way. For information, www.goosefareantiques.com, goosefare@gwi.net or 800-641-6908.
