MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — EstateOfMind Auctions will start its spring auction off at 10 am with a two-session sale beginning at 10 am with militaria, guns and swords, with a collection of sporting/competition air rifles, including 25, 22 and 177 calibers. The main sale, starting at 11 am, will include sports/baseball and related items from the Weiss family sports museum that will include a Sandy Koufax autographed baseball bat with LOA, two 1969 NY Mets autographed jerseys, #42 Brooklyn Dodgers autographed jersey, binder of 1940/50s Brooklyn Dodgers signed 8-by-10-inch photos, all with COAs. Also included in the sports category will be a private collection from a writer for Sports Digest that will include autographed baseballs, programs, stadium seats from Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, Shibe Park, Crosley Field and others, plus sample 10K gold rings from the 1974, 1977 and 1978 Super Bowls for Roger Staubach, Terry Bradshaw and “Mean” Joe Green with a Roberto Clemente World Series ring, and a rare Forbes Field cornerstone, circa 1909.
The auction will also include an extensive collection of Native American artifacts from a private 45-year collection, including beaded moccasins, gorgets, large lots of arrowheads, axes, bird stones, pipe tomahawks and working tools.
Bronzes will be represented with a rare Tiffany Glass & Decorating Co. Blue Point crab dresser box circa 1895, two large Auguste Carrier bronze groupings, including a mantel clock , circa 1860-70, and a pair of mythological plaques from the Hermitage foundry, Milford. Penn., circa 1905.
Musical instruments will be highlighted with a selection of 25 assorted guitars, mostly 1960-70 Japanese but also includes Gibson, Fender and amplifiers.
Jewelry, watches and objets de vertu will include a classical silver, natural sapphire and ruby mounted dresser box with portrait miniature from the Nineteenth/Twentieth Century, Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring with GIA certificate, circa 1920; Rolex Oyster perpetual 18K stainless with date, circa 1975; Patek Philippe 18K open face pocket watch, circa 1930; Czar Alexander III enameled silver cup, circa 1880; and a rare anatomical volume De humani corpis fabrica libri septem by Andreas Vesalius, circa 1642.
Artwork will include a graphite drawing attributed to Berthe Morisot, an oil on canvas panel by muralist L.C. Matzal, and two oils on canvas paintings of monks signed Eduard Von Grutzner (1846-1925).
Furniture, rugs and clocks will include a rare Effingham Embree tall case clock with eagle inlay and sheep automaton movement, circa 1795-1800, two Chinese carved zitan center and end tables, circa 1850-60, and two large Sarouk palace-size carpets, circa 1900.
