WILLOUGHBY, OHIO — Dana J. Tharp Auctions presents its fall 2024 catalog auction on Saturday, November 9, at 9 am, in person and online. The auction features Cleveland, Ohio, native and photographer Tim Ryan’s rare and vintage collection of cameras, lighting and photo equipment. It is an opportunity to bid on large- and medium-format, 35mm and folding cameras. Brands include Hasselblad, Leica, Nikon, Omega, Argus, Agfa-Ansco, Reisekamera, Seneca, Argoflex, Canon, Rolleiflex and more.

Tim Ryan’s photography has taken him to locations all across the United States with the honor and pleasure of taking pictures of such notables as Dr Martin Luther King Jr, John Glenn, Jim Brown and The Beatles. Ryan’s career spans more than 56 years as an accomplished commercial photographer with a portfolio that includes more than 300 magazine covers, catalogs, fashion, sports and record covers. Ryan has been the president of the Cleveland Camera Collectors Club for many years, has had his work displayed in various hospitals, Cleveland State University, and received many prestigious awards for his skills as a photographer. Antique cameras from his collection have been on loan to the Cleveland Museum of Art for a special photographic exhibit.

This auction features a number of rare photographic items, including an 1840 head rest stand used by portrait photographers, a 4×5 Speed Graphic Pacemaker “45,” No. 10 Cirkut (Panoramic) complete kit with original tripod, Conley 5×7 view camera, Afga-Ansco 8×10 studio view camera, multiple antique century No. 8 studio view cameras, an extremely rare Kodak custom double height rolling stand, a number of century-old rolling camera stands, Reisekamera Tailboard 5×7 field camera and many more.
