Paintings, Furnishings, Silver, Circus Memorabilia from the Estate of Noted Paintings Collector Charles N. Mock, the Estate of Susan Coggeshall King, and from “Elm Court”, built in 1865 on Newport’s Bellevue Avenue for Frank Work.

Charles N. Mock had distinguished careers as a special agent for the FBI. and as a vice-president of the Providence Journal Co.. During his 28 years with the Journal, he acquired many paintings, 40 of which will be offered. Artists in-clude: W. Alden Brown, Jean Pierre Cassineul, Antonio Cirino, W. Staples Drown, William Drury, H. Anthony Dyer, Cyrus Farnum, C. Gordon Harris, Charles W. Knapp, Edmund Darch Lewis, Charles Loomis, F.C. Mathewson, William Paskell, Edwin Steele, Beatrice Turner, James G. Tyler, George W. Whitaker, Mabel Woodward. Susan Coggeshall King was a direct descendant of John Coggeshall, one of Newport’s founders, and articles from her estate feature a red cedar with chestnut slantfront desk, c. 1770- 1785. The “Elm Court” representatives are Directoire settees, two Louis Vuitton trunks, salon and library tables from the 19th Century. The circus memorabilia includes several wagons built to scale and many posters from bygone circuses.
