All of the artwork in this auction is the property of direct descendants of William Trost Richards, and has never been offered for sale, either privately or at auction.
The sale is comprised of 13 paintings by Richards, 102 of his drawings and pen & inks; paintings by his daughters Eleanor Richards Price and Anna Mary Richards Brewster; and by student/friend Fidelia Bridges. Richards has no peer in capturing the turbulent majesty of the ocean crashing against the rocks. Three of his major ocean paintings will be featured in this auction.
