MARLBOROUGH, MASS. — On July 18 and 19, Bonhams Skinner conducted an online-only auction of European Décor and Design in two parts, presenting almost 800 lots from all categories. The top result of either session was a silver and enamel cigarette case from Fabergé that closed at $76,700. Made in Moscow between 1908 and 1917, workmaster Feodor Rükert painted a detailed scene of “Ivan Tsarevich Riding the Grey Wolf” on its intricately decorated hinged cover, which was secured with a sapphire cabochon clasp. More on this and other shining sales of the auction to follow.
