The well-known architect designed the home in Manchester’s North End for Dr Isadore J. and Lucille Zimmerman in 1950; four decades later, they gave it to the Currier. Made of Georgia cypress, molded cement and matte red brick, the house is topped with a clay tile roof, recently restored to Wright’s original specifications. Describing it as a classic “Usonian,” Wright also chosetextiles for the Zimmerman House and designed modular freestandingand built-in furniture, gardens, and even the mailbox. A ten-yearplan to restore the site’s landscape is well under way.
