YPSILANTI, MICH. — Topping nearly 300 lots in Schmidt’s Antiques October 1 Antique Clocks and Watches sale was a late Nineteenth Century French figural floor molded clock by Samuel Marti et Cie of Paris, which bidders chased from a $1/2,000 estimate to $27,500. Featuring an eight-day spring driven time and strike movement and porcelain dial, the clock had been retailed by Shreve Crump & Low of Boston while the cast spelter base of the Classical draped figure was marked “A. Carrier.” Prices quoted include the buyer’s premium; watch for a more extensive sale recap in a future issue.
