DEERFIELD, MASS. — Historic Deerfield, Inc., announces the addition of Christine Ritok to its staff in the role of associate curator. Prior to joining Historic Deerfield, Ritok was the Associate Curator of Sculpture and Decorative Arts at the Museum of the City of New York, where she worked since 2010. She earned a master of arts degree in the History of Design and Decorative Arts from Parsons the New School for Design & Smithsonian Institution, Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, New York City, and a bachelor of arts in history and art history at Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Mich. She is a native of the Detroit area.
As associate curator at Historic Deerfield, Christine will focus on the museum’s furniture collection as well as a second professional specialty. She will also develop public programming for the museum and assist with the conservation of the Historic Deerfield collections per the results of the recent IMLS Conservation Survey at the museum.
