POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Hyde Park Country Auctions closed out the month of March with its Country American & Fine Decorative Arts sale on March 29. The 529-lot sale featured property from part three of the William Sadler & Marni Bakst collection, several Dutchess County, N.Y., estates and the Walker family of Kent, Conn. Leading the day at $10,625 with premium — and besting its $100/500 estimate by more than double — was a Hiroshige woodblock print, complete with a printed signature and seal. Depicting a river and mountain scene, the framed work was noted as possibly being in two sections, potentially done in the Nineteenth Century or earlier. Additional highlights from the sale will be featured in an upcoming issue.
