A new antiques show will open next spring at the Teaneck Armory April 14‱5, announced Allison Kohler, director of JMK Shows & Events.
The two-day show will feature 150 diversified exhibitors in a spacious setting with a selection of walled and pipe and drape booths available. Merchandise will range from choice American and Continental furniture to paintings, prints, ceramics, silver, glass, fine jewelry, art pottery, Asian antiques, and decorative accessories. Show hours are on Saturday from 10 to 5 and on Sunday from 11 to 5 and admission will be $8.
“Teaneck is an area with affluent customers who are interested in antiques,” said Kohler. “This part of New Jersey no longer retains the quality shows that at one time were more frequent, so we expect the public to react strongly to this event.” The Teaneck Armory is off Route 4 at 1799 Teaneck Road, at Liberty Road.
JMK is in the process of selecting dealers for this show. Management stresses that contracts will be available by invitation only, but dealer inquiries will be welcomed. “We have many requests to do the show, and will consider every inquiry,” said Kohler.
“Our major concern in dealer selection is to create balance and diversity of merchandise for our buying public,” she said, adding that this is the time to keep dealers working and making money. “The JMK business model is to keep shows affordable for exhibitors and this event is a well-managed show at a great location with easy load-in at a very good time of year.”
Antiques at Teaneck Armory will provide a certified appraisal clinic for the public’s use at $5 per item, as well as museum-quality restoration services. Glass restorations will be provided by Paul Nulton and expert porcelain and pottery restoration by Louis.
Teaneck is the latest venture from JMK Shows, which recently revived several shows, including the Atlantic City Antiques Show, The Northern Virginia Antiques Show and The White Plains Antiques Show. The firm is dedicated to bringing well-executed and cost effective events to the public.
