This past August there were four antiques shows and one auction on the schedule for Antiques Week in New Hampshire. That will change next year when Karen DiSaia brings a fifth show into Manchester, opening on Wednesday, August 8, and running for two days.
“I was not looking for a new show to run, but a group of dealers has come to me over the past couple of years with the suggestion, and I finally decided to do it,” Karen said from her Old Lyme, Conn., office. “The show will not be big, 35 to 40 exhibitors, with a focus on quality,” she added.
The name of the show is still up in the air, and no opening and closing hours have been set. Those will be announced in the near future. The show will take place in downtown Manchester at the JFK Coliseum (the ice rink) on Maple Street, a short distance from the Radisson Hotel, home of The New Hampshire Antiques Show, sponsored by the New Hampshire Antiques Dealers Association.
Karen said last week that the floor plan would be completed by the weekend, and that contracts would go out directly. “We have a list of dealers who are interested in doing the show, so it appears we will have no problem filling the booths,” she said.
