NEW YORK CITY — Two Oriental auctions at Christie’s posted strong prices last week with a Japanese and Korean Art sale offering 361 lots, 227 sold, and grossing $3,408,841, while the Dr Yip collection of Classical Chinese furniture realized $2,900,823, 68 lots offered with 40 sold.
Highlighting the Korean offerings was an Eighteenth Century blue and white Choson Period porcelain jar selling at $559,500. Classical Chinese furniture from the Yip collection saw a late Sixteenth Century huanghuali Luchan bed bringing $350,500.
