RUSHVILLE, OHIO – A rare signed 1928 full vellum first edition of The House at Pooh Corner sold for $19,500 at Mike Clum Inc., on July 19. The copy was number 12 of 20, published by London company Methuen & Co., on Japanese vellum and signed in ink on the limitation page by author A.A. Milne and illustrator E.H. Shepard. The book featured a price notecard in the front that listed it at $85.
The sequel is notable as the final book from the “Winnie-the-Pooh” series and also the first to include Tigger.
The lot caught 37 bids before it was knocked down.
