HYANNIS, MASS. — The leading lot on the first day of Ted Harmon’s Decoys Unlimited auction July 26–27 was a well known Oldsquaw hen, made by Joe Lincoln. From the Robin Starr collection, the bird attained $74,750.
The decoy had been published and included in various exhibitions over the years. Elmer Crowell miniatures were strong at this sale with a set of 25 miniature ducks selling for $28,750. The sales room was full as the day got underway and several phone lines and Internet bidding was active throughout the day.
