LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. — A painting attributed to the circle of Cornelis Cornelisz Van Haarlem (Flemish, 1562-1638) demolished its $12/18,000 presale estimate to bring $162,500 at Rago’s Great Estates sale over the weekend. “Venus, Cupid and Ceres,” a Seventeenth Century oil on canvas (framed), signed with monogram and dated, 38 by 43 inches, came out of a private New York collection.
Rago also did well with a collection of jewelry by Marianne Ostier. A full report on this sale will follow.
