Mickey Mouse Provides a Golden Opportunity at Fontaine’s and a $690,000 Price Tag
PITTSFIELD, MASS. — Important Twentieth Century lighting, furniture and decorative arts were offered at Fontaine’s during a three-session auction conducted this past weekend, February 7-9.
The auction generated a great deal of interest grossing $3.2 million. The top lot of the auction, a solid gold Mickey Mouse standing two feet tall and weighing 1,500 ounces, sold for $690,000.
A Belter marble-top table was high among the furniture offered at $86,250, and a Tiffany Favrile aqua marine vase topped the decoratives at $77,625.
