JACKSON, WYO. — The tenth annual Jackson Hole Art Auction September 16–17, hosted by Trailside Galleries and the Gerald Peters Gallery, attained $8.3 million in sales with 83 percent of the 388 lots sold. Twenty new artist world records were established, including “Portrait” by Dean Cornwell, at $245,700.
The top lot of the auction was N.C. Wyeth’s “He Rode Away Following a Dim Trail Among the Sage,” which brought $585,000, followed closely by Maynard Dixon’s “Cattle Drive,” at $409,500.
