DETROIT, MICH. — It was a good weekend for fine art at DuMouchelles’s September 14-16 sale, as the top three lots of the sale were anchored by Korean, French and British artists. At the helm was “Les Deux Amies,” a 76-by-50½ inch oil on canvas by Korean artist Kim Sou. The work doubled a $90,000 high estimate to land at $186,000. Following behind was “Le Cafetiere Blue” by French artist Bernard Buffet. The modern still life measured 18 by 25 ½ inches and brought $74,400. Finally, at $68,200 was a grouping of three Lynn Chadwick “Standing Woman” bronze sculptures, measuring between 12 and 12¾ inches.
