The Vernon Police Department is investigating the theft of two antique bells that were taken from a private residence here sometime between January 1 and January 8.

One of the stolen bells is a 13-inch-diameter bronze train example and the other is a 12-inch-diameter bronze church bell, circa 1835. An identifying mark “GH” is stamped on the side of the church bell.

Anyone with information pertaining to the theft or the recovery of the bells is asked to contact the Detective Prattson of the Vernon Police Department at 860-872-7249. The case number is 12-393.
