WILLISTON, VT. — Three Meissen porcelain vases captured bidders’ attention in Merrill’s December 13 Decorative Arts, Advertising & Toys auction. Estimated at $100/200, the realized price of $5,355, including buyer’s premium, was certainly a pleasant surprise for folks at Merrill’s Auctioneers. The lot of three vases, all Meissen porcelain, included a pair of rich cobalt blue bud vases with hand-painted classical female figures and a white Chinese export-style vase with phoenix decorations and silver banded rim. A more detailed review of the auction will be in a forthcoming issue.
