It was common to picture the family dressed in black mourning at the monument in memorial pictures. Miss Field’s was teaching the use of ‘f’ to replace ‘s’ when ‘s’ was other than the last letter of a word. Silk, ink, and paint of linen; 15 ¾” x 17 ¾” sight size.
