Lot 53: TEXTILE: New England "Whig Rose" pattern quilt, c. 1840-1865, cream overall with raised vine, leaf, and bud design in yellow, green, pink, and magenta, with nine 26" blocks, cotton top and border, linen backing, probably wool filler, ecru thread, hand appliqued, pieced, quilted, and stuffed, approximately 8 to 9 stitches per inch, cloth label from Connecticut Quilt Search Project located at one corner, isolated minor stains throughout, comes in customized canvas carrying case, 91" l. x 91" w.
