Cincinnati Stove Works Horse and Rider Advertising Sign, c. 1903. Cast iron. Depicting a woman riding sidesaddle on a galloping horse. TRADEMARK cast on the horse’s neck, CINCINNATI STOVE WORKS on the saddle blanket and R CIN. IRON FDY/CIN., O. 1903, on the reverse with raised marks. The Cincinnati Stove Works, incorporated c. 1879, was a leading manufacturer of cooking stoves and all kinds of stove hollow-ware, such as pots, skillets, griddles, iron heaters, tea-kettles and wash-boilers as well as parts for the repair of stoves.
