A Wedgwood snake-handled jasper vase marked "WEDGWOOD". 16” high, circa 1790, likely of the form presented to the Qianlong emperor of China in 1793. The reaction by the Chinese court: “All eyes were fixed on the vases, which were among the finest productions of Mr Wedgwood’s art.” Available at the New York Antique Ceramics Fair.
