London: Imprinted … by Robert Barker, 1612. Quarto, signed in eights (7 ½ x 5 ½ inches), pp. [i-ii; 1-]2-4, 9-395, “338’ – “339” [i.e. 396-397], 398-686. Title with woodcut title surround, black letter. (Lacking pp.5-8 [i.e. A4 and A5], neat repair to the inner margin of the title with some loss to the woodcut surround, some old staining and toning, upper and lower margins close-shaved affecting the headlines and pagination to about 100 pages, Qq7 with small clean ¾ inch tear to upper margin affecting the text area. 19th-century calf, covers with border tooled in blind, red stained edges, rebacked with Morocco (lightly rubbed). Provenance: B. Storer, jnr., and M. W. Storer (inscriptions, dated 1870). A very rare example of the “first quarto New Testament of King James version … The woodcut title-border … [features] the emblems of the Evangelists and the figures of Fides and Humilitas; … [with] the royal arms has been inserted at the top”.” (Herbert).
