Splay leg tavern table, possibly Southern U.S., early 18th C., oak, two-piece round pegged top joined with spline supported by sliding dovetail cleat on straight square apron with beaded lower edge tenoned and double pinned to ring, slender vase form legs with ball feet joined by rectangular box stretcher with beaded top and bottom edges, old red paint over traces of early red, loss to feet, wear to paint, 28" h. x 30 3/8" w. x 30" l.
