Inventory 4472 - Impressive tramp art cabinet made by Samuel Annino (Sicilian/American, born c.1887), Boston, Massachusetts. It has the incised date "1917" and the initials "S A" on the deeply cut out bottom skirt. The mirrored gallery and shelf supported by square columns on the projecting cabinet with cupboard doors opening to two shelves. The entire piece is masterfully covered with wooden cigar boxes all crisply chip carved. Annino was a barber who worked near Fenway Park in Boston, MA and according to family history one of his clients was Babe Ruth. The tramp art cabinet was displayed in his barbershop where it held his shaving mugs and other implements of his craft. Size: 61.75" x 39.5" x 18.5" Price: $18,500.00
