YPSILANTI, MICH. — Schmidt’s Antiques presented its March Gallery auction on March 2, giving bidders the chance to compete for 373 lots of antiques and fine art, including a large selection of Gothic Revival furniture and illuminated manuscripts. The Dearborn, Mich., estate of Richard P. Kughn was the source of the sale’s top lot, a circa 1960s Lalique “Chene” crystal chandelier that sold to a buyer in Wildwood, Ga., for $6,875, including buyer’s premium, beating out its $4/6,000 estimate. An upcoming review of the sale will appear in a forthcoming issue and will include additional highlights of the auction.
