DALLAS — Heritage’s November 13-14 Americana & Political Auction offered nearly 700 lots representing historical American milestones and memories. With 1,664 bidders participating and 92 percent of lots sold, the sale realized a total of $1,591,200. Most notably, the auction featured more than 20 celebrated flags from the Zaricor Collection, one of the world’s largest and most significant collections of American flags. Outperforming the rest was one recovered from the rubble of the World Trade Center’s South Tower in September 2001. Scarred by scattered burns, holes and discoloration from dirt and debris, this flag achieved $52,500 with buyer’s premium. A more comprehensive review of the Americana & Political Auction will run in a forthcoming issue
