“The show is building, getting stronger, and we expect more exhibitors next year,” Tina Bruno of Flamingo Eventz said concerning the Granite State Book & Ephemera Fair. The August 7 fair had exhibitors set up at CR Sparks Event Center, site of the Start of Manchester Antiques Show that took place on Tuesday and Wednesday of the same week.
“We had a nice balance of dealers, offering maps and prints, post cards, posters and books of all types,” John Bruno said. He added that “high quality historical” proved to be the popular seller.
The CR Sparks facility has been sold and will become a Lexus dealership in the near future. “We will be moving both the Start of Manchester Antiques Show and the Book and Ephemera Fair to a new location, sticking with the people at CR Sparks,” John Bruno said.
That is Plan A, and in the event Sparks does not find a location suitable for both Flamingo events, “We will look for another location, Plan B,” Tina said. This was the fifth year for the book and ephemera fair.
Flamingo will conduct four more book and ephemera fairs this year, the next one on September 28, The Maine Book & Paper Show, at the Wyndham Portland Airport Hotel in South Portland. For information, www.flamingoeventz.com or 603-509-2639.
