WOODBURY, CONN. — On December 12, Tom Schwenke and Woodbury Auctioneers offered 615 lots from the New Canaan, Conn., estate of Theodora “Teddy” Gibson Berg. One of the most highly anticipated lots — a platinum, diamond, ruby and pearl necklace with a ruby, diamond and gold removable pendant, attributed to Frank Walter Lawrence, an Arts and Crafts jewelry designer and silversmith. Estimated at $15/20,000, the stunning necklace sold to an online bidder for $36,250, including buyer’s premium. A more extensive auction review of this sale will appear in an upcoming issue.
