WILLIAMSBURG, VA. — “It’s very interesting to think of the toys in terms of, if a child got one of these, what would they do with them? These were meant for play,” said Jan Gilliam, associate curator for toys at The Art Museum of Colonial Williamsburg. Where antique toys have become a collectors item with assigned value based on paint, condition, complexity and maker, one exhibition seeks to bring it back to the point: good old-fashioned fun. The “German Toys in America” exhibit at the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum is on through December 2018. For more information, www.colonialwilliamsburg.com.
