NEW YORK CITY — Doyle New York’s two-day Doyle +Design auction, which took place December 6-7, presented Modern and Contemporary furniture, silver and design by prominent designers and makers of the Twentieth and Twenty-First Centuries; a sizeable portion of the sale featured property from the estate of Hedda Kleinfeld Schachter, founder of bridal salon, Kleinfeld’s. Leading the sale at $75,600, including buyer’s premium, was a circa 1910 Tiffany Studios bronze and leaded glass octagonal section Nasturtium Trellis chandelier that had provenance to the Minna Rosenblatt Gallery in New York City. It had been estimated at $50/70,000. A more extensive review of the two-day sale will appear in an upcoming issue.
