DENVER, PENN. — Achieving $114,000 against a $60/80,000 estimate in Morphy Auction’s December 17-19 Fine & Decorative Arts auction was the top lot: a Louis C. Tiffany Venetian table lamp that the catalog described as being one of the New York City firm’s most expensive productions in the early Twentieth Century. Standing 19 inches tall, and boasting provenance to Macklowe Gallery, it was the star of the day and of the three-day event, which totaled $2.6 million. Prices quoted include the buyer’s premium; a more extensive sale review will be included in an upcoming issue.
