A fine oil on canvas Impressionist painting of a seated female nude by famed American artist Charles Webster Hawthorne. The work depicts a nude female seated on a pillow top stool wrapped in diaphanous drapery in front of an oval mirror. The room is accented by a vase of red and pink flowers. The work shows significant influence from Impressionist master Edgar Degas, in that Hawthorne depicts the reverse of the subject not revealing her face.
