ROSWELL, GA. — Red Baron Antiques’ Best of the Best Collectibles auction on March 2 lived up to its name, with 245 lots totaling an excess of a quarter of a million dollars. With an 81 percent sale-through rate, many of these monumental lots — ranging from architectural antiques to ornate bars — found favor with nearly 500 bidders. Many saw competitive bidding, including the top lot of the sale, a rare, restored Brunswick Monarch pool table previously owned by American actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry. Achieving $47,200 all in, this masterly crafted piece features intricate wood inlays and black and gold finished iron lions as the base. A more extensive review of the Best of the Best Collectibles Auction will run in a future issue.
