OLD LYME, CONN. — In her debut as an artist, folk art portraiture dealer Joan R. Brownstein opens at The Cooley Gallery in an exhibition entitled “Painting with Paper”, a selection of geometric works using cut paper, colored pencil and graphite. Brownstein is influenced by her long tenure as an expert in the folk art portraiture field as well as by artists Richard Diebenkorn and Piet Mondrian.
