The Cape Ann Museum presents the exhibition, “To Gather Together and Keep These Bonds: Highlights from the Permanent Collection,” on view through May 29.
The exhibition showcases the depth and breadth of the museum’s collection †from artifacts, documents and historic photographs to paintings and sculpture. Native American tools, Nineteenth Century ship’s logs and American Revolutionary memorabilia are exhibited along with paintings by Marsden Hartley and John Sloan and sculpture by Walker Hancock and Paul Manship. A small display of drawings and sculpture by George Demetrios complement the exhibition, representative of the museum’s ongoing role as a repository for a select group of artists’ works.
The Cape Ann Museum is at 27 Pleasant Street in Gloucester. For more information, www.capeannmuseum.org or 978-283-0455.
