Those looking to fill the stockings of loved ones with antiques knew just the right place to go †the 27th annual Stocking Stuffers antiques show December 16 at John Jay High School. The show, run by Cord Shows, presents a wide mix of smalls from decorative wood boxes and jewelry to silver, pottery, ephemera, glassware and more.
Nancy Craig, NCC Antiques, Dover, N.H., likes things that are small, a bit different or interesting. Her booth offered all of that and more from a great cast iron baseball player bank and a dome-top building cast iron bank to a lovely Hampshire Pottery plate with curled edges depicting Grant’s Cottage.
Chanel is the specialty of Olivia Garay Vintage Jewelry, South Beach. Fla., but the dealer had plenty other luxury items on offer also, such as a fine lady’s Hermes watch in 18K and an Hermes ring set with diamonds, as well as a Tiffany scarab ring and a Tiffany silver coffeepot.
Perfect Things, Pound Ridge, N.Y., nearly filled her booth with a variety of Christmassy things from a smiling Santa on a tricycle and Frosty the Snowman carrying a snow-covered umbrella to a pair of singing choir figures.
Baker Antiques, Newtown, Conn., had a good selection of glassware, including a set of four red Georgian sherbets, a red Fenton mug, circa 1930s, and a set of six tiny liqueur glasses in a pleasing amber hue.
