HARTFORD, CONN. — During his 20-year FBI career, former senior investigator Robert K. Wittman recovered more than $225 million worth of stolen art and cultural property and founded the bureau’s National Art Crime Team.
Tonight, October 30, Wittman shares his experiences and expertise in his lecture “The Three F’s of Art Crime: Frauds, Forgeries and Fakes!” beginning at 6 pm at the Wadsworth Atheneum. A public reception and book signing begins at 5 pm.
Stay after the lecture for a 7 pm screening of Beltracchi: The Art of Forgery, a mesmerizing film about Wolfgang Beltracchi, who tricked the international art world for nearly 40 years by selling his forged paintings.
