CHESTER, VT. – Robert W. “Bob” Arbuckle 78, died at his home the evening of December 11, surrounded by his family. He owned and operated Bob Arbuckle Auctions in Chester. He loved auctions and auctioneering.
Chester-based antiques dealer Mary Fraser said, “Bob Arbuckle was a fine person and a credit to his world of auctioneers.” Another local dealer remembered years ago that Bob used to like to bake items for the concessions table at his sales.
Bob was born May 4, 1938, in Stowe, Vt., the son of Virginia (Warren) and Solon Arbuckle. He married Judith Krulikowski and they made their home in Chester.
He is survived by his wife Judith of Chester, son Robert W. “Ace” Arbuckle Jr of North Springfield, Vt.; daughter Sherri Adams of North Carolina, sister Sandy Handy of Gilford, Vt.; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, son Jeff Arbuckle and sister Becky.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center D-H/Geisel Office of Development 1 Medical Center Drive, HB 7070 Lebanon, NH 03756-0001.
Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield handled the arrangements.
