Chippendale Wing Chair- Price Upon Request
PETER H. EATON ANTIQUES, INC, Newbury, Mass. peter@petereaton.com 978-465-2754 A boldly-proportioned Chippendale wing chair with fully serpentined crest and wings and chamfered legs. It is in mahogany with whitewood, pine and ash secondary woods and is from New Hampshire or perhaps Vermont origin, circa 1770-85. It measures 42½ inches high, 34 inches wide at wing tips, and 14-inch seat height. Note construction of wings: vertical and horizontal pieces are overlapped by 6 inches to significantly strengthen what is always the weakest part of these chairs. This is the first time I have seen this type of practical construction.
